Armed suspect barricades himself in truck with female hostage in Beverly Hills after trying to mow down sheriff’s deputy

A gunman was taken into custody following a nine-hour standoff with cops after he allegedly took a woman hostage in an affluent Beverly Hills neighborhood. An automated license plate reader identified a pick up truck belonging to a suspect wanted in the attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy, the Beverly Hills Police Department told the California Post. The man had allegedly attempted to strike an LASD deputy around 3 am Sunday morning near Inglewood at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and West 104th Street, according to the sheriff’s department.
