Three years to the day after he hit his first major league home run in The Bronx, Anthony Volpe was back at Double-A Somerset, the next step in reclaiming a career that began with great promise, but is now filled with questions. Volpe, sidelined by offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, could be the Yankees’ starting shortstop again — and soon — considering the organization’s continued belief in him and José Caballero proving to be more of a solid utility player than an everyday infielder. Volpe went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts against rehabbing Phillies ace Zack Wheeler and played five innings in the field.
