Beloved Disneyland ride shuts down for first time in 65 years — right before Spring Break crowds

Disneyland hit the brakes on some of its most popular attractions this week just as Spring Break crowds poured in. The theme park’s famous Monorail — the state’s first daily operating monorail and a park icon since 1959 — went out of service Monday, according to Disneyland’s official refurbishment calendar. The elevated train has long been a fan favorite for its sweeping views of Disneyland Park and its quick ride between Tomorrowland and Downtown Disney.
