Hemet police say they have cracked a bold toy theft ring, recovering about $10,000 worth of stolen LEGO sets and Hot Wheels in a dramatic Southern California bust. The operation, led by the Hemet Police Department’s Organized Retail Theft Team with support from the Southwest Cities SWAT, culminated in a search of a residence on the 300 block of South Gilbert Street. Authorities say the suspect, 37-year-old Hugo Omar Sanchez-Sanchez, was quickly taken into custody and booked on felony charges for possession of stolen property and organized retail theft.
