WASHINGTON — Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, resigned Tuesday — wildly claiming in his resignation letter that President Trump was duped into launching the war against Iran by Israel and media figures. Kent, an Army veteran and two-time Republican congressional candidate, posted his resignation letter on X, writing: “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. ” “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” Kent wrote.
