Oscars security will be biggest in award show’s history amid Iran terror threat

Authorities are deploying more personnel than ever at the Oscars this year and setting up a one-mile security perimeter around the awards show after the FBI warned about a potential Iranian drone strike on California. Officials said the security for 98th Academy Awards, celebrating 2025’s best films, which will be held Sunday in Hollywood, will be “better” than ever. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the 2026 ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood will also feature red carpet arrivals, a gala, and a ball — drawing millions of viewers from around the world.
