Vinnie Pasquantino might not be able to sleep tonight after a performance for the ages for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. The Royals first baseman became the first player in history to homer three times in a WBC game, leading the Italians to a 9-1 romp over Mexico at Daikin Park on Wednesday to clinch a perfect record in pool play and a spot in the quarterfinals. It meant Pasquantino, who was hyped over the win, had to take three shots of espresso in the Italian dugout, as is customary every time a member of the team hits a home run.
