Accused sex abuser school counselor collected $70K on paid leave after charges and arrest

A Sacramento elementary school counselor charged earlier this year with sexually abusing children has earned about $70,000 while on paid leave and remains employed by the local school after being arrested for the disgusting crimes. Sacramento cops collared Wonyoung Kim, 36, in February 2025 after a five-month investigation, according to the Sacramento Sheriff’s department. Kim was arrested on 10 counts of child sex abuse with minors under age 14 — including two counts of child sex abuse with force.
