Padres starter Matt Waldron could begin the season on the injured list after manager Craig Stammen said the pitcher recently sustained an “infection in his rear end. ” The San Diego skipper told reporters the 29-year-old knuckleballer actually required a procedure this week to fix the ailment — which was later clarified to be a hemorrhoid issue. “(Waldron) had to have surgery to drain it and make it better,” Stammen said.
