Patriots opening up DC position with Terrell Williams shifting to new role — and there’s already a favorite

Terrell Williams is being moved into a high-ranking role with the Patriots, setting the stage for a vacant position at defensive coordinator that could be filled by inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr.   The changes to Mike Vrabel’s coaching staff in New England have been reported by multiple outlets and help the Patriots head coach keep two valued staffers within the organization.   Kuhr handled the defensive coordinator duties after Williams was diagnosed with prostate cancer early in the season, and he handled things exceptionally well in a season where the defense played a key role in New England’s run to the Super Bowl.
