Investigators searching for Nancy Guthrie may have been checking her septic tank for clues that were flushed down the toilet, a former law enforcement official suggested. Three investigators were spotted searching the tank in the backyard of Nancy’s home in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday afternoon, as the search for “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mom entered its eighth day. “A lot of people forget that having a septic tank means waste water doesn’t go into a city sewer, it goes into the tank,” former SWAT team captain Josh Schirard told the Daily Mail.
