Overcrowded New Jersey elementary school turns principal office into classroom

A New Jersey school is sending kids to the principal’s office — not because they’re in trouble — but because it’s an actual classroom. Sunnymead Elementary School in Hillsborough Township is so overcrowded, Principal Tammy Jenkins gave up her room five years ago to help with the lack of space. So for half a decade, she has been sitting at a desk in the school’s main office and lobby.
