A Staten Island electrician on Monday finally admitted he killed his elderly mother — after trying to convince authorities he put her out of her misery amid a botched suicide attempt, according to reports. Carl Sutera, 60, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the strangulation death of his doting mom Rosalie Sutera, court records show. The plea caps a bizarre and tragic case that began when the 80-year-old great-grandmother was found dead in her home in January 2024.
