Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s Chief of Staff Dan Katz will be nominated by the Trump administration to join the International Monetary Fund as the organization’s second-in-command, three sources familiar with the matter told The Post. In a move that is being called a “a big win” for the president’s America First policies, Katz — a former senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute who joined the Treasury Department in January — will become the first deputy managing director and the most senior American at the IMF. Katz will report to managing director Kristalina Georgieva, a Bulgarian economist and ex-EU commissioner who leads the global financial firefighter, which was at the forefront of the European debt crisis in 2008.
