A fraudster who stole a home from a dying widow pleaded guilty to deed theft — the first conviction under a new criminal law, the Attorney General’s office announced. Victor Quimis, 40, admitted Thursday to stealing the Kew Gardens home of Renuka Bherwani, an elderly widow who was receiving end-of-life hospice care at her house, according to Attorney General Letitia James. 5 New York Attorney General Letitia James — standing here with the victim’s son, left — secured the first convtion under a new deed theft law.
