Many were curious of Michael Jordan’s broadcast future after his short stint as a “special on-air contributor” for NBC Sports’ NBA coverage in the 2025–26 season. The network aired one sit-down interview with NBC Sports’ play-by-play voice Mike Tirico and Jordan, entitled “MJ: Insights To Excellence,” that was spliced into five segments, lasting about three to four minutes apiece, which aired throughout the season — and an August report by Front Office Sports said Jordan was not expected to return to NBC. During Front Office Sports’s “Tuned In” summit in New York on Tuesday, Tirico explained that Jordan ultimately didn’t want to deal with the day-to-day of a broadcaster at this point in his life.
