Fabrice COFFRINI / AFP via Getty Images OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei are expected to address the United Nations Security Council this week as concerns over the potential security risks of increasingly powerful artificial intelligence systems move to the center of global diplomacy. The Security Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to discuss AI and international security, bringing some of the industry's most influential executives and researchers into a forum traditionally focused on wars, nuclear proliferation and threats to global peace. Representatives from Chinese AI companies DeepSeek and Moonshot have also been invited to participate, although DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng is not expected to attend.
