Long Island is getting a new 80-mile trail in honor of Teddy Roosevelt – stretching from the former president’s one-time residence in Nassau County all the way out to Montauk. Local officials announced the “tourism trail” at a press event Monday on the 125th anniversary of the swearing in of the only Long Island resident to become commander-in-chief. A Roosevelt impersonator joined Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and other officials at the announcement in Sayville.
