This Miami heat is breaking records. Miami hit a sweltering 100 degrees this week — tying the hottest temperature ever recorded in the city more than 80 years ago, meteorologists said Wednesday. The mercury soared into the triple digits Tuesday afternoon for the first time since July 21, 1942 as a dangerous heat gripped much of southern Florida, according to the National Weather Service.
