After burning through their weekly allotment of runs Wednesday, the Yankees were all out of offense an afternoon later. If Tuesday’s big, four-run inning and Wednesday’s big, 10-run game looked like the beginnings of a stirring of the Yankees’ offense, Thursday the group looked drowsy once more. Perhaps that was the Logan Gilbert effect, but regardless of the cause, the Yankees were shut out for a seventh time this season in a 1-0 loss in front of 41,842 in The Bronx, where they could not finish off a sweep of the Mariners.
