The Dodgers have said repeatedly in recent weeks that Shohei Ohtani doesn’t need an extended break from hitting, as he nurses injuries to his left knee and right biceps that have kept him from pitching since July 3. But on Thursday, Ohtani was not in the team’s lineup for its rubber match against the Mariners because of continued soreness in the two-way star’s knee, according to manager Dave Roberts. The Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani was out of the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Mariners.
