The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday called off a scheduled vote on Todd Blanche’s nomination for attorney general, less than 24 hours before it was to be held — after two Republicans threatened to tank the acting attorney general’s confirmation bid. At issue is a settlement reached between the IRS and President Trump earlier this year, which established a since-scrapped $1. 776 billion fund for victims of government weaponization and granted the president immunity from tax audits.
