The NFL cliché is that no player’s job is safe after a regime change. Sometimes a new coach — especially one with final say over the roster, such as the Giants’ John Harbaugh — wants to send a message. Other times he just doesn’t care about an inherited hefty contract or high draft status that might have been saving a player on the bubble in the past.
