The Los Angeles Lakers have long viewed Walker Kessler as one of the NBA’s most intriguing young centers. This week, however, the pursuit became significantly more complicated after two seemingly contradictory developments emerged just days apart. On one hand, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that Kessler declined a five-year, $140 million contract extension from the Utah Jazz, a development that fueled speculation the 24-year-old could eventually be on the move.
