A recent Popmenu survey found that 78% of consumers believe tipping practices “have become ridiculous,” while nearly three-quarters of people — or 74% — say they’ve noticed restaurants raising the suggested gratuity amounts displayed on digital payment screens. When faced with those prompts, 59% of the 1,000 adults surveyed in March said they feel compelled to leave a tip.
