The MTA and five labor groups representing workers with the Long Island Rail Road reached a deal Monday night to end a three-day strike that caused travel chaos for thousands of commuters. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the two sides reached a “fair” deal — and while she didn’t share specifics, she said the agreement would not lead to an increase in fares or taxes.
