After a night of tributes to the late John Sterling, the Yankees announced a more permanent one Tuesday. Beginning May 18, the team will wear memorial patches on the sleeve of its jerseys honoring Sterling, the longtime radio voice who died Monday at 87. The patch features a microphone above Sterling’s name and will replace the “JS” the Yankees began wearing on the back of their caps Monday night.
