California’s fastest drivers faced a rude awakening as California Highway Patrol officers unleashed a major crackdown, handing out 11,767 speeding tickets in a single day. Among them, 200 speed demons were caught flying past 100 mph. In total, CHP issued 19,564 citations for various violations and 2,807 warnings.
