An iconic northeastern grocery store is heading back to Long Island — with a new twist for shoppers — after the once beloved chain filed for bankruptcy more than a decade ago. Pathmark is set to open its new concept store, “Pathmark Daily,” in East Meadow on Friday, offering Nassau County shoppers a more streamlined grocery shopping experience, according to Greater Long Island. Allegiance Retail Services, which acquired Pathmark in 2016 after parent company A&P filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015, said the new store will emphasize high-quality produce, meats, seafood and everyday essentials for shoppers on the go.
