When Cam Schlittler discusses facing the Red Sox at Fenway Park in his next start, I expect to look left and right in the Yankees clubhouse and see the scruffy Thurman Munson and Graig Nettles and not the gentlemanly Max Fried and Gerrit Cole. Let’s just say that given the choice on whether to toss kerosene or water on the lingering embers from last October’s conflict with a segment of Red Sox fans, Schlittler did in words what he does on the mound — threw heat. And made it feel a little like The Rivalry again.
