WASHINGTON — Former President Barack Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson hailed the daring rescue mission of the F-15E Strike Eagle crew that had been shot down in Iranian airspace as more complex than the historic raid to kill Osama Bin Laden. Johnson, who had served as general counsel of the Department of Defense during the time of the Bin Laden raid, called the stunning rescue mission last week “remarkable” and called for more transparency about how the military pulled off the feat. “This operation for the first pilot and the second pilot is a remarkable exercise, demonstration of US military courage, technology, and power,” Johnson told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
