An Ohio fire department rescued more than 50 people in just three hours — including children and six dogs who were thrown out of their rafts and kayaks on the Cuyahoga River during unexpectedly rough currents Sunday afternoon. The massive rescue effort came a day after a father and his 5-year-old son drowned after being knocked out of their tube by the river’s rushing waters. 4 The Cuyahoga River experienced higher water levels than usual in the wake of multiple thunderstorms and tornadoes last week.
