Former Virginia soccer coach charged with having sex with 17-year-old player

A former Virginia soccer coach is accused of sexually exploiting a teenage boy on her team in a months-long relationship that allegedly began when he was 17, according to police and court records. Shannon Rebekah Meyyar, 47, was charged with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor following an investigation by law enforcement officers. She allegedly carried on a clandestine affair with the 17-year-old student for two to three months, beginning in February 2019, while working as a soccer coach at Williamsburg Christian Academy in Virginia.
