WASHINGTON — House Speaker Mike Johnson told his staff Wednesday that he will not vie to be minority leader in the next session of Congress after Republicans suffered a generational midterm wipeout, multiple sources on his team told The Post. Johnson (R-La. ), who jolted to power in October 2023 after GOP infighting led to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s demise, had governed one of the slimmest majorities in the lower chamber’s history.
