Gotham FC on verge of history as NWSL Shield race comes down to final day

Gotham forward Midge Purce finds it not only “really exciting” but actually quite fitting that the NWSL Shield is coming down to the final day of the regular season. “We, I think, as a club tend to wait to the last minute to do some things, historically,” Purce said after Wednesday’s training session. Gotham won last year’s championship thanks to a Rose Lavelle goal in the 80th minute.
