Texas murder victim finally ID’d 43 years after being fatally shot, dumped by highway

A Texas murder victim has been identified – some 43 years after she was fatally shot and dumped by the side of a highway. Texas Department of Public Safety investigators on Monday identified the woman as Betty Jo Norris, a 44-year-old mom who was found dead in September 1983.   The case had been cold for the past two decades but a breakthrough came in July thanks to advanced DNA testing and genealogy research, DPS announced.
