Lone Star Austin's October festival season is about more than what happens on stage. The city has a long history of turning major music events into citywide experiences, something IBTimes has previously captured in its coverage of SXSW in Austin. For two weekends, restaurants, bars, local venues and the streets surrounding Zilker Park become part of the wider festival atmosphere, giving visitors plenty to do before and after the main performances.
