Tropical Storm Fay forms far out in the Atlantic as Odalys strengthens in the Pacific

MIAMI — A new tropical storm formed Sunday in the northern Atlantic Ocean but does not appear to pose a threat to land. Tropical Storm Fay had maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) and was located late Sunday about 405 miles (650 kilometers) southwest of the Azores. There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
