NBA Commish reacts to Clippers boss’ ‘precise words,’ alludes to possible federal hot water

Adam Silver heard what Steve Ballmer said in his apology — and appeared to notice what the now-suspended Clippers owner did not say. Speaking Tuesday after the NBA Board of Governors meetings, Silver was asked whether Ballmer’s Sunday statement went far enough despite stopping short of admitting that the Clippers circumvented salary-cap rules. “Putting aside the precise words he chose to use, most importantly he indicated a willingness to accept the league’s decision in this case and the accompanying sanctions,” Silver said.
