Annual Jets-Giants preseason matchup once again presents a duality for starving fans

The Jets and the Giants play each other Friday night at MetLife Stadium, the yearly Snoopy Bowl. If you know anything at all about this annual exhibition — stand clear; the NFL doesn’t like when you use that word “exhibition,” so you may soon join me on a Watch List — you know it was born in the summer of 1969 as a seminal civic event. That was the weekend of Woodstock, and the battle for New York City was actually fought in New Haven, Conn.
