What used to be known as “The Snoopy Bowl” stopped being called that around the time both teams became the dogs of the NFL. But Giants-Jets week arrives this year with some renewed optimism. Not just because both teams won their Week 2 preseason games — who cares about the score? — but because the Giants dominated the hapless Dolphins from a joint practice through a game in which their offense ran 79 plays to the Dolphins’ 36, while the Jets’ starting offense cruised to a touchdown in a 17-0 shutout of the Steelers.
