Astor Place subway station train fire hospitalizes 6 MTA workers, 5 firefighters

At least six Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers and five firefighters were hospitalized after a train caught fire in Astor Place subway station early Tuesday. A vacuum train which is used to clear debris from the subway tracks caught fire just before 2:15 a. m.
