Malibu’s iconic Point Dume Beach closed indefinitely due to ‘severe’ erosion

A popular Malibu beach has been shut down indefinitely after powerful surf and high tides triggered major coastal erosion. The closure affects Westward Beach Road beyond the pay gate, including the entrance to Point Dume Beach and its parking area. “There is currently no estimated reopening date,” the City of Malibu said.
