Toilet shortage and thick fog make for miserable Bay Area fireworks show as city leaders promise change

San Francisco’s much-hyped Fourth of July celebration went straight down the toilet. The deep-blue city lured an estimated 100,000 people to the waterfront for a historic fireworks display launched from the Golden Gate Bridge, only for the show to be swallowed in thick fog for much of night as transit and sanitation issues added to the chaos. 9 Thick fog swallowed much of the show and transit descended into chaos.
