The Archdiocese of San Francisco has defended the right of Giants players to publicly express their Christian faith after four pitchers came under fire for writing Bible verses on their caps during the team’s Pride night match against the Chicago Cubs. Archdiocese spokesman Peter Marlow told The Post Giants pitchers Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, Ryan Walker and Sam Hentges had a right to public religious expression, no matter what their occupation. “People of faith should not be compelled to hide or suppress their sincerely held religious convictions in public life, including in the world of professional sports,” Marlow said.
