NY man allegedly drove drunk to pick up pal released after DWI arrest

An arrestee’s designated driver allegedly showed up drunk to pick up his pal, who was being released from police custody after a DWI arrest in upstate New York. Antone Gilonna, 25, veered into a restricted area in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s public parking lot at the tail-end of his joyride to pick up his friend, according to an MCSO news release. A deputy sheriff who briefly interacted with Gilonna on site suspected that the designated driver was intoxicated.
