WASHINGTON — The US Supreme Court on Monday upheld Texas Republicans’ redrawn congressional map — a controversial redistricting that kicked off a gerrymandering race around the country. A lower court had previously blocked the map, but the nation’s top court last year ended up issuing a stay of that ruling, which temporarily allowed Texas to keep the map in place. Then Monday, the high court officially rejected the lower court’s block of the map, with Democrat-appointed Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissenting.
