A prominent Hollywood Jewish leader has slammed a group of “lunatic” UCLA students after their antisemitic condemnation of an on-campus appearance from a Hamas hostage. UC Regent Jay Sures, the vice chairman of United Talent Agency, issued a scathing letter Friday saying he was “disgusted” and appalled” by members of UCLA’s Undergraduate Students Association Council who said a visit from Omer Shem Tov — a 23-year-old who survived 505 days in Hamas captivity — “obscured the broader reality of ongoing state violence. ” 6 Sures’ scathing letter called out the hypocrisy of a note put out by USAC condemning a visit from Omer Shem Tov.
