Francisco Lindor placed on IL as Mets call up Ronny Mauricio

After dealing with the loss of Juan Soto for 15 games — and a dozen losses — due to a calf strain, the Mets could be looking at a similar stretch without Francisco Lindor with a calf injury. Lindor, scheduled to receive an MRI on his left calf Thursday after leaving Wednesday’s win that snapped a 12-game losing streak, was placed on the IL before Thursday’s game at Citi Field and Ronny Mauricio was called up. Lindor suffered the injury — on the night Soto returned from his IL stint — rounding the bases on a Francisco Alvarez double in the bottom of the fourth.
