After Sam Darnold led the Seahawks to the Super Bowl, the Jets want to see what another one of their former busts is capable of. More than nine years after parting ways with Geno Smith, the Jets are bringing back their 2013 second-round pick to likely serve as the team’s starting quarterback next season. The Jets acquired Smith from the Raiders, along with a seventh-round pick, in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, with hopes the 35-year-old will provide a stronger bridge than Justin Fields did to the team’s next young franchise quarterback.
